Harajuku Teen Group in Modern Japanese Streetwear Fashion

While strolling through the streets of the Harajuku neighborhood, we came upon this group of teens who caught our eye with their individual streetwear looks. From left to right, they are: Miku, Nagumo, Haruna, and Raika – all familiar faces in the streetwear fashion scene.

At the left most side is 18-year-old Miku, whose outfit consists of a black Kappa jacket with rainbow sleeve stripes, which he wore over a striped Uniqlo x JW Anderson sweater and a black turtleneck top. Black skinny pants from Uniqlo, Vans checkerboard slip-ons, and accessories such as a black Monster 18 Percent cap, black sunglasses, a chunky chain necklace, silver knuckle rings, and a silver chain completed his look. Kappa is Miku’s fave fashion brand, and he enjoys the music of Bad Hot and Big Bang.

Next is 16-year-old Nagumo, whose all black ensemble features a Luna Mattino zipper coat worn over a leather motorcycle jacket and turtleneck sweater from Uniqlo, and paired with pants – also from Uniqlo – and heeled boots from H&M. He is wearing a Thrift Tokyo vintage belt bag, and accessorized with black sunglasses, a Christopher Nemeth badge worn on his coat lapel, and Maison Martin Margiela knuckle rings. Nagumo’s fashion favorite is Christopher Nemeth, and he enjoys listening to the tunes of Sheena Ringo. Follow Nagumo on Instagram.

The only girl in the group, 15-year-old Haruna is clad in a red and black fashion style. She is dressed in a red hoodie windbreaker from Gemstone, which she wore over a black Zett shirt and red track pants with white side stripes from sportswear brand, Asics. Platform lace-up shoes from WEGO and a black Adidas sling bag capped off her style. Kinji is Haruna’s fashion favorite and she listens to the music of Black Pink. She is also active on Twitter and Instagram.

Lastly, 15-year-old Raika is dressed in a black mock-neck sweatshirt layered with a t-shirt, both bought from Off-White. He paired his layered tops with red track pants with white side stripes from Halo Tokyo, with hems tucked into black-and-white striped socks, and wore black suede sneakers from Vans. He capped off his style with a black bucket hat. Raika’s favorite fashion brands include Never Mind the XU and Halo Tokyo, and he listens to Big Bang.
