Japanese Girl in Studded Platform Converse & Cropped Sukajan

This is 19-year-old Maina. She’s a college student who we photographed on the street in Harajuku.

Maina is wearing an outfit that’s put together mostly of items from resale shops – including her cropped souvenir jacket (sukajan) and the floral skirt. Her studded Converse platform high tops are from Harajuku’s Nadia and she got her The North Face backpack from her mother. Accessories include several charms on her backpack and a pink watch with butterfly artwork.

When we asked her about music, Maina told us that she likes the famous Japanese rock band The Boom.
