Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe Premier x Vantan at Tokyo Fashion Week

The 2012 S/S edition of Japan Fashion Week (aka Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week) in Tokyo is under way! Several times each day, TokyoFashion.com’s contributors are reporting back from runway shows and events all over town. Be sure to check out all of our Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo coverage.

On Monday, October 17th, Mercedes Benz held a combination automobile showcase and fashion show at the Mercedes-Benz Connection in Roppongi. Mercedes-Benz provided the cars – their new C-Class Coupe – and Vantan Design Institute provided the fashion. The four participating Vantan fashion students – Kang Eun Ju, Minato Shigemasa, Yanagida Naoki, and Fujiki Kentaro – are all in their twenties, and part of a special class called “X-SEED”. Models dressed in the young designers’ creations posed in front of the new Mercedes Designo Magno Night Black C-Class Coupes.

After the show, Mercedes-Benz Japan Vice President Kintaro Ueno explained the design and technology features of the new C-Class Coupe. The company linked cars and fashion as both means of expressing individual styles. Mercedes-Benz Japan hopes that through such collaborations with designers, their cars will catch the attention of people with good taste in design.
