Traditional Chinese Hanfu Dresses & Floral Hair Accessories on the Street in Harajuku

While walking on the streets of Harajuku one afternoon, we came across these two young women in pretty traditional Hanfu Chinese dress styles.

At the left with long hair with a braided updo is Yo, a student. They are wearing a black-and-red traditional Hanfu dress with grey pleats, a braided belt and embroidery embellishments, worn underneath a sheer white robe with wide embroidered sleeves. A pair of slippers with embroidered appliques, a satin white drawstring pouch, floral hair accessories and a jade o-ring necklace finished off their interesting style. She is active on Instagram.

Meanwhile, at the right sporting pink hair is Rei. The 20-year-old student dressed up in a similar style which consists of a pale blue and pink Hanfu pleated dress, paired with white slippers with green-and-yellow floral embroidery. A white embroidered drawstring pouch, floral hair accessories and a jade pendant necklace finished off her traditional Chinese style. For more on Rei’s streetwear styles, follow her on Instagram.
