Yasutoshi Ezumi 2012 S/S Collection

On Tuesday, October 18th, Japanese label Yasutoshi Ezumi showcased their 2012 Spring/Summer collection on the runway at Tokyo Midtown.

Yasutoshi Ezumi is a young designer who got his start in fashion abroad, graduating from the University of Arts Central Saint Martin College of Art & Design. He worked as an assistant at Alexander McQueen before designing knitwear at Aquascutum London for their 2008 S/S and A/W collections. He returned to Tokyo and launched his eponymous brand with the 2010 A/W collection.

The theme of the Yasutoshi Ezumi 2012 S/S collection show at Japan Fashion Week was “String Theory”. Taking inspiration from the idea that the entire universe is connected by strings, the brand’s designer worked “ladder stitch” (drop stitch) knit work into a number of pieces in the collection. The final model in the show appeared on the runway in a stunning long black ladder stitch knit dress.
