Japanese Street Styles w/ Vintage Kimono, Comme des Garcons Cutout Dress & Vivienne Westwood
While out taking a leisurely stroll along a tree-lined street in Shinjuku, near Bunka Fashion College, we came upon this trio of girls whose street styles definitely stood out and caught our eye.
At the left is Riona, an 18-year-old student. Sporting purple-and-pink hair, Riona is dressed in a black-and-white polka dot long sleeved dress with cut-out shoulders from Comme des Garcons. Black platform lace-up shoes from Demonia, a black patent leather quilted clutch, and accessories from Gugu such as geometric drop earrings and a silver necklace complete her look. Riona’s favorite brand is Cune and she loves the music of the late Michael Jackson. She is active on both Instagram and Twitter.
18-year-old Yuka (at the middle) is decked out from head-to-toe in Vivienne Westwood, which features a red plaid coat with flared sleeves and oversized buttons, and a matching asymmetrical skirt. She completed her outfit with a white button down shirt, black tights, platform red ankle wrap shoes with a wooden heel, a printed heart handbag, and accessories such as a black bowler hat, silver hoop earrings, an oversized orb pendant necklace, and multiple gold cocktail rings. Yuka’s favorite music acts are Oasis and The Beatles. She is also active on Instagram.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Ikumi is wearing a hand-me-down vintage kimono with a red obi belt, which was worn by Ikumi’s grandmother on her Coming of Age Day. Ikumi wore a white long-sleeved ruffle shirt with a neck bow, a long pleated skirt with tiered layers, and white tabi boots from Rakuten. She is carrying a purple velvet drawstring bag – gifted to her, and accessorized with a cream fur pillbox hat, eye jewelry, gauged ears, white lace gloves, and several vintage rings.
