On Thursday, March 22nd, Japanese label Dressedundressed showcased their 2012 Autumn/Winter collection on the runway at Tokyo Midtown.

Dressedundressed is the creation of Takeshi Kitazawa and Emiko Sato, the original buyer and director of the popular Shibuya streetwear boutique Candy. According to their homepage, the brand’s concept is dualism and contrasts – “[a]n internal struggle against the contradictory or simply opposing or different elements. Masculinity and femininity, beauty and ugliness, darkness and light, purity and sensuality, future and past.”

The Dressedundressed 2012-13 Autumn/Winter collection show at Tokyo Fashion Week had the theme of “Homunculus”. Some of the sleek dark looks in the show – particularly the leather gloves – were partially inspired by imagery from the movies “American Psycho” and “Gattaca”.
