Japanese Fashion Blogger in Blue Yukata & Sandals

We often run into Iccho near Omotesando Dori in Harajuku. He’s a Japanese fashion blogger, so we see him out on the street snapping photos and talking to fashionable people in the same areas where we are shooting. On this day, he was wearing a yukata and geta sandals – along with a vintage LL Bean backpack that he got from the popular Tarock resale shop. We thought you might find it interesting to see how young hip Japanese still occasionally dress in traditional clothing.

Iccho’s favorite type of music is piano jazz. If you’d like to check out his fashion blog, it can be found here.

Note: This update is from a series of street snaps that were taken in the summer for a print magazine. The magazine didn’t need all of the photos, so we are running the remaining snaps here on Tokyo Fashion. Some of the styles may be more Summer than Fall, but they have never been seen before and we didn’t want them to go unpublished.

  1. It’s an awfully bright shade of blue – if I saw it on a rack, I don’t know that I would buy it. But he pulls it off really well; especially with the blond hair, though he’s still Japanese enough in the face and such to make it not look the way I inevitably do when I wear yukata – like a wannabe or weeaboo or whatever the term is.

I guess what i’m saying is, it’s awesome that he can go out like this in public. Good for him!! Wish I could, and not feel awkward about it.

  2. he is wearing this back pack with every outfit?
    but back pack is cool
and yukata is a great stuff to wear when it is so bloody hot during Japanese summer
    i love Japanese summer!
even if i am all pink…too hot for poor northern european

  3. The cool that while he’s a fashion blogger, his style is so simple, traditional and gorgeous in the same time (now) that I fall in love ^^
My feeling is that he’s the sea god and his body is the sea…wow!
