Loco Mack – J-Pop Group Harajuku Street Snaps
Here are a group of Japanese friends who we photographed on the street in Harajuku. All three of them – Apollo, Uno, and KEY – are in the indie J-Pop band Loco Mack. Their somewhat theatrical outfits caught our attention right away.
On the right is KEY. She’s wearing a remake Versace jacket over a shorts-jumper from So What? and tall black boots. Accessories – some of which came from So What? – include a hat that matches her jacket, question mark & explanation point earrings, and a large jeweled tiger ring. KEY’s favorite fashion brands include Sly, Joyrich & So What? She likes to listen to 2NE1, Christina Aguilera and P!nk.
On the left is Apollo, wearing a “remake” (Japanese word meaning customized or handmade from another item) Versace top, So What? by Kaori “SOW” Kuroiwa pants, and white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers. Accessories – some of which came from So What? – include a crown pin, sunglasses, and a rope chain necklace. Apollo told us that his favorite shop is So What? and his favorite music groups include Big Bang and 2NE1.
In the middle, Uno is wearing a remake jacket from So What? by Kaori “SOW” Kuroiwa along with red riveted pants (also from So What?) and Timberland boots. Accessories – some of which are from So What? – include a red hat, glasses, a large jeweled skull necklace, and a wide gold bracelet. Uno’s favorite brands include Joyrich and So What?. He enjoys listening to Hip Hop, R&B, and the classic soul singer Donny Hathaway.
