Maya Kibbel in Harajuku w/ Nicopanda & “Grunge” Cap

Maya Kibbel – 17-year-old fashion blogger, Cobra Snake photographer, and Tumblr celebrity – is a familiar face in the Tokyo fashion scene these days. We were happy to spot her on the street in Harajuku – and even happier when Maya was nice enough to stop for a couple of quick snaps.

Maya’s pink-blonde hair is the first thing that caught our eye. She was wearing an oversized jacket with a Nicopanda top, platform shoes, an eyeball backpack, and a “GRUNGE” cap.

If you’d like to know more about her – and see a lot more pics – check out Maya’s official Tumblr, Twitter, or Instagram.

  1. Man I just checked out her tumblr…Her attitude really makes me like her style way less! She’s kind of a brat :)

  2. Ellen, I’ve checked her tumblr also and I like her :) I think she is very intelligent (read “about me” and her replies to the questions people ask her). She seems bratty because she swears and lols a lot, but I think she actually is a cool person. The questions people ask her often are pretty stupid but the replies show that she is intelligent and witty. Anyway, I love intelligent people who don’t let jealous judgemental idiots step on them, so I already like her :D And she is only 17 – I think she actually is very mature as a person.

As for her style – not my thing, but I liker her hair and shoes.

  3. Yeah, I read some of that. Swearing doesn’t bother me, but something about her argumentative responses to polite questions does. Nonetheless, negative attention is still attention, and I commend her for being able to put herself out there. Her online representation of herself is just not my cup of tea.

  4. I can understand that :) I guess it is my cup of tea because I’m a pretty weak person – people who seem confident (even if they come off as a bit arrogant), able to chase their dreams and don’t bother with those who just want to put them down just to feel better about themselves impress me. The girl does what she loves, seems true to herself and doesn’t give a rat’s ass what others think of her – I like that kind of people.

  5. I hope she realizes she is definitely NOT grunge. I don’t know why she’s wearing a cap that says grunge. Looks more like a hipster to me. Love the camera though.
