M / mika ninagawa x Onitsuka Tiger Collection Out Now

Mika Ninagawa is best known globally for her vividly colored photography, but she has also expanded into movie making and, more recently, fashion design. The artist has a rock star following with young women in Japan. Her exhibitions draw big crowds and when her imagery appears on products, they usually sell out quickly.

Mika Ninagawa’s latest project is a collaboration between her own upstart fashion brand “M / mika ninagawa” and the iconic Japanese footwear brand Onitsuka Tiger. The collection was released in limited quantities at Onitsuka Tiger locations throughout Japan on November 8, 2014.

The new M / mika ninagawa x Onitsuka Tiger collection features two different women’s shoe designs (the “Mexico 66” model is priced at 24,000JPY and the Javelin Hiina at 25,000JPY), a track jacket (20,000JPY), and a tote bag (25,000JPY). All of the items feature Mika Ninagawa’s photography of bright red lips.
