Japanese Flight Attendant Fashion Review

Japanese flight attendant fashion is not exactly something you might think about every day – but apparently some people are very interested in just that. On a recent visit to a local Tokyo convenience store (konbini), I stumbled upon a miniature fashion show of female Japanese flight attendant uniforms over the years. That may sound strange, even for Tokyo, so let me explain more clearly – if you bought certain drink items at the konbini, you could get a free miniature Japanese flight attendant action figure.

The action figures are each part of the “ANA Uniform Collection” toy set. The set covers Japanese girls dressed in All Nippon Airways (ANA) stewardess uniforms in various fashion styles from 1955 to 2005. Each of the girls in the set has a different uniform and a different hairstyle, etc. It’s basically a c0-promotion between ANA and the drink company. Pretty cute idea, and a little fashion related.

This is the second Japanese toy post this week, so I’ll keep this brief. Even though this news is more toys than clothing, it is somewhat fashion related – especially if you’re into Japanese uniform fashion.
