Kinji, Panama Boy & Nile Perch Fashion in Harajuku
A funny thing that sometimes happens on the streets in Tokyo is that we will stop someone and ask if we can take their photo, only to find out that they are working with another street snap website. In this case, both of these friendly and colorfully-dressed Harajuku-ites work with the Gunma Street Snap site.
On the left is 10Mo8 (pronounced “Tomoya”), a 24-year-old shop staff at the popular Harajuku resale shop Kinji. He’s wearing a bright yellow sweater and shiny blue skirt – both resale items from Kinji – and Mad Foot sneakers. His accessories include glasses, a hand-painted bag, and a sweater(?) tied around his long hair. 10Mo8 told us that some of his accessories came from Yaponskii, and that his favorite brands/shops include Day Break (Harajuku resale shop), Commes des Garcons, and Vivienne Westwood.
On the right is Yuck (short for Yukari maybe?), a 19-year-old college student wearing a knit cardigan from the Harajuku resale shop Panama Boy under a fuzzy sweater/coat, a tulle skirt from Nile Perch, socks with strawberries on them, and white heels with heart cutouts. Her accessories include strawberry hair clips, various charms & plush animals from Panama Boy, and a colorful bag that she borrowed from 10Mo8.
When we asked them about music, 10Mo8 said that he likes Hawaiian 6 and Acidman. Yuck told us that she listens to Judy and Mary.
