Kitson LA Coming to Tokyo

The company that runs Tokyo Girls Collection will be launching the first Kitson shop in Tokyo in the Spring of 2009, according to a press release. Kitson LA is one of the coolest fashion shops in Los Angeles, attracting the attention of numerous Hollywood celebrities including Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Leonardo DiCaprio. There are already cool select shops in Tokyo that carry items from Kitson, but with the new deal signed between Kitson, Itochu Corp, and Branding Inc, there will now be an official Kitson Japan.

As far as the plan for launching the Kitson Japan brand, here is some info from the the press release:

The plan is to launch hip, trendy fashion from LA from a variety of angles, with the wide range of lifestyle suggestions that Kitson makes possible — from imported selections that anticipate new trends and accessory shops that are highly-topical as a results of collaborations with celebrities, through to Women’s and Kid’s lines.

Whatever that means exactly, it sounds like they have big plans for the Kitson brand in the Japanese market. Kitson was a part of one of the recent ultra-popular Tokyo Girls Collection events, and Kitson has a lot of celebrity cred in America, so it seems likely they will be trying to get some of those Japanese and American celebs involved in the launch and the promotion of the brand. The opening party in March of 2009 should be pretty crazy.
