Marble Wonderland Tokyo w/ Fig & Viper, Harajuku SeaPunk, Dempagumi.inc, Hirari Ikeda & more!

Marble Wonderland Tokyo – with a theme of “Real Japanese kawaii for the girls in the world!” – fused Japanese street fashion from Shibuya, Harajuku, and Akihabara with performances by popular J-Pop artists. Over a thousand fashion and music fans turned out for the Japanese kawaii culture event. There are few places were one could hope to see a Filipina cosplay star (Alodia Gosiengfiao) followed by fast-rising Akiba idols (Dempagumi.inc), then enjoy an appearance by one of Japan’s most well-known lolitas (Misako Aoki) and watch a Harajuku street fashion icon (Hirari Ikeda) representing an internationally famous stylist’s (Nicola Formichetti) latest project (Pop Icon). Marble Wonderland had all of that, and much more!

Marble Wonderland Tokyo Fashion Show

Highlights of the fashion at Marble Wonderland 2013 included a show by the super-trendy-on-the-Tokyo-street Shibuya brand Fig & Viper, a SeaPunk-inspired Harajuku fashion show (with several popular magazine models), and an eye-catching Tokyo-themed catwalk show by hip young Japanese designer Souta Yamaguchi.

In addition to the trend-setting idol group Dempagumi.inc, music was provided by Shiina Pikarin, AmiAya (producers of jouetie), and Japanese guitarist Shintaro Mizuno. Other models and entertainers were also on hand, including popular Niconico dancers Guilty Hearts (Kamen Liar 217 & Miume), Misako Aoki, Hirari Ikeda, Haruka Kurebayashi, Tenchimu, Natsumi Saito, Ai Matsumoto, Hikari Shiina, Son Wei, Misaki Izuoka, Sonoko Kino, Akiko Ishikawa, Tomomi Toriyabe, Mayu Koike, Natsuko Matsumoto, ChanMoMo, Emi Kaisaka, Yo Matsuyuki, Aya Suzuki, Minato Kobori, Memori Sato, Kikky (Kiyoyuki Sakiyama), 8#Prince, and Alodia Gosiengfiao.

If you missed Marble Wonderland Tokyo, don’t fret! We brought back lots of pictures – and the event will be touring around Asia (and possibly beyond). Check out the official Marble Wonderland Facebook page for information on upcoming dates in your country! In the meantime, enjoy our shots from the show!

  1. Shiina was having a little Kyary thing going on, but cute. Sea Punk was great, especially when all 5 girls were together. Really cool! The second model’s outfit from Souta Yamaguchi, amazing! Ikeda looked pretty great. But in general, the harajuku DIY street fashion looks can be so amazing by comparison. Maybe when you put your own personality into what you’re wanting to show others, and spend all that time on just one look, it comes together better? I don’t know.

  2. Woaaa gorgeous! Thank you very much for keeping us on the loop! Great project to see all harajuku idols and fashion together! Please come to Azerbaijan! <3

  3. Hirari Ikeda, Haruka Kurebayashi and Miume in a single show, now, this is a real show!!!!!

  4. I wish Alodia would stop wearing that costume. I mean, is that all she could wear? Anyway, Haruka-chan and Misako-san are so cute and lovely <3
