The Dress & Co. HIDEAKI SAKAGUCHI 2012 S/S Collection

The 2012 S/S edition of Japan Fashion Week (aka Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week) in Tokyo is under way! Several times each day, TokyoFashion.com’s contributors are reporting back from runway shows and events all over town. Be sure to check out all of our Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo coverage.

On Wednesday, October 19th, Japanese label The Dress & Co. HIDEAKI SAKAGUCHI showcased their 2012 Spring/Summer collection on the runway at Tokyo Midtown.

Born in 1973, Brand founder Hideaki Sakaguchi graduated from Hosei University with a degree in interior design. He launched his brand under the name Jelly Garcia in 2002, then renamed it to The Dress & Co. HIDEAKI SAKAGUCHI from the 2009-2010 A/W season onward. His collection was shown at Rendez-Vous Paris in 2008, which led to orders from influential overseas shops and a stronger international presence.

The Dress & Co. Hideaki Sakaguchi 2012 Spring/Summer collection runway show at Japan Fashion Week was titled “Californian Twilight” with a subtitle of “The Classical Surf”. The collection featured casual California-inspired looks as well as a few swimwear pieces providing an extra nod to California’s most valuable asset – the beach.
