Tokyo Girls Award 2011 Pictures – 2NE1, Yoshiki, Milky Bunny & More Music
Tokyo Girls Award is an all-day fashion, music, and fun event produced by the Japanese company Crooz. Like Tokyo Girls Collection, Girls Award is more a party than a stodgy catwalk fashion show – which is why the event drew ten thousand Japanese girls to Harajuku for the A/W edition. In our first report on Tokyo Girls Award A/W 2011, we showed you fashion shows and brand presentations. Now, in our second of three reports, it’s time to check out the music of Tokyo Girls Award!
The musical lineup for Girls Award 2011 A/W was impressive! The event hosted several popular K-Pop and J-Pop groups, and even featured a special appearance by Yoshiki from X-Japan. In addition to Yoshiki, the lineup included Rania, Bumpy, Girl Next Door, Becky, Studio Apartment featuring Miho Fukuhara, Kylee, Milky Bunny (aka Tsubasa Masuwaka), Sol from Big Bang, ISSA x SoulJa with Rola, and 2NE1.
The high-energy performance by K-Pop superstars 2NE1 was definitely the highlight of the night for many Girls Award attendees. There was a touching/fun moment during the 2NE1 show where all of the members stopped to present a large birthday cake to Dara. You can see the girls with their 2NE1-branded cake in the photos below.
