It’s time for a new episode of “Japanese T-shirt of the Week”!

This week, we are featuring a t-shirt from the same brand as last week – RNA Media. Yes, it might seem a little lazy, but we stumbled onto this unique t-shirt while doing research for our recent RNA fashion brand profile. So, without further delay, we present Tokyo Fashion’s new Japanese T-Shirt of the week…

Valley Girl Is Not Tomboy T-shirt

The front of the shirt says, in bold text, “Valley Girl Is Not Tomboy”. In between the lines of that message it says, “Please Don’t Confuse”. On the back of the shirt, it reinforces the message from the front and adds the extra (and very important) subtext, “I know you are but what am I?”…

I know you are but what am I

We are sure that many people will find it fulfilling to wear a shirt that is both fashionable, and educational. There has been a lot of attention in the worldwide media recently about the confusion between Tomboys and Valley Girls. We’re hoping that this shirt can help to resolve some of those complex issues. People who see this shirt are sure to better understand the difference between these two key female subcultures. Or, it could just be a cute t-shirt. :-)

The “Valley Girl Is Not Tomboy” t-shirt from RNA Sweat comes in four colors – black, white, green, and pink. It’s currently listed on the sale page at the RNA website and costs only 1950 yen (about US$20).

Anyone could say they are a tomboy. But really? Just liking a sport doesn’t make you a tomboy. To be honest, someone could like a sport and still be a girly girl. Your comment doesn’t actually make sense about being like this. Being a Valley Girl could also mean you are a tomboy. Thank you for understanding.
